Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve had my Brew Tank under my own roof. Previously it was either out in a field, barn or warehouse. So I’m very excited to be converting my cellar into Brew Tank mecca! It would be great to hear any tips from you about the setup of your ideal brew station.
I have just got my hands on a new “L valve” so I’ve plugged it directly onto the whirlpool arm, with the common inlet attached to my pump and then the second outlet to the heater element in the RIMs. I decided to attach the second half of the RIMs to the lid, taking stress off the whirlpool arm. And, of course, squeezed in the sight glass – just because 😊
Just running some cleaning / sterilizer through the system ready for a brew up.
The advantage of have the L valve is I can switch between the whirlpool arm and recirculation with out disconnecting. This setup also allows you to disconnect the hose going to the the lid to dump the wort after the boil whilst using the pump, with very little left in the system.
In a couple of weeks I will get my hands on the new Dark Farm counter flow chiller. So when I can this hooked up we should achieve a fully closed system
