Here’s your chance to get your art work on the front cover of the UK’s hottest homebrew magazine, MASHED!
We’re looking for some kick-ass illustration or art work for the front cover of our next issue – due out in June 2021.
We’re an independent magazine (so we’re not supported by advertising) and would love to champion an up and coming artist/illustrator.
What you get if you win!
- Your art work on our front cover (great for your portfolio!) – June 2021 issue
- A double page editorial in that issue to promote you and your artwork
- Shout outs on social media
- A case of Welsh beer
- PLUS the possibility of future paid commissions for the right person

Here’s our brief
We’re not after obvious images of beer and homebrewing – our links are more tenuous than that. And we’re not really looking for photography entries (unless they’re quite abstract/unique). Check out some of our previous issues below. Here’s the most recent issue .
- Art work to fit A5 (portrait) front cover, full colour.
- Your artwork will have some kind of link to the content of that issue (even if it’s tenuous): the theme of the issue is brewing in Wales.
- You must be able to send us a high resolution, high quality version of your entry, if you win by the deadline below.
Feel free to submit work that you’ve already created if it fits the brief – you don’t have to create something specially!

By entering the competition you agree to our terms below.
Competition terms
- All entrants must be 18 years or over and resident in the UK.
- Entries must be submitted by 11.59pm on Thursday 15th April 2021.
- No cash prize alternative.
- The judges decision is final.
- We will contact the winner by Monday 19th April 2021. You must submit a high resolution copy (300 dpi) of your art work by Friday 23rd April 2021 to claim your winning position.
- The art work you submit must be your own and you guarantee that you’re not infringing any copyrights in your work.
- By entering the competition you grant MASHED! Magazine (Dark Farm Hops Ltd) royalty free commercial rights for editorial use of your art work for the June 2021 issue and online and offline materials promoting it. We will, of course, attribute your work.
Our most recent front cover was chosen because of its visual links to yeast cells and wooden yeast rings, which we featured in the magazine.
